Creation of the SDTHC

In August 2023 we have officially filed the paperwork in the state of California for the registration of the nonprofit organization called the San Diego Team Handball Club, or SDTHC for short. We are waiting for the tax-exemption status that will allows us to receive donations as a charitable organization.

Our first Board of Directors includes 3 frenchies (Olivier, Marianne and Saadallah) and from our passion of team handball we wanted to share what we learned from the sport with people in San Diego. Our goals will be to offer the opportunity for our members to be part of teams and to play in California leagues, USATH National Championships or other tournaments.

We are making a lot of progresses. For example we are trying to secure a gym for weekly practice and for some California league games that will be host by SDTHC, we are getting equipment to start our first practices in September, and we are registering to the USATH organization to be able to enter in USATH tournaments and leagues as well as to receive insurance coverage. So far, a SDTHC men’s team would play their first games in the California league in October.

We will make announcements to the members and share information on social medias in the following weeks, so get ready for the practices.
